Emily Salgado has years of expertise in public relations, politics, government affairs, and communications campaigns.
Salgado has managed winning candidate and education campaigns for Lew Edwards Group clients throughout California, including Monterey County Supervisor Jane Parker, Peralta Colleges Trustees Julina Bonilla and Karen Weinstein, and Millbrae City Council Member Gina Papan. Salgado successfully quarterbacked Yes on N, California’s first education parcel tax supporting high school Linked Learning job and career programs for the Oakland Unified School District in 2014 and Yes on G1, Oakland Unified’s Parcel Tax supporting teachers and middle school students in 2016.
Additional successful LEG clients represented by Salgado include the County of Humboldt, Stockton Library, Etiwanda School District, and the cities of Benicia, Canyon Lake, Concord, El Cerrito, Marina, Menifee, Norwalk, Temecula and Union City among others.
Prior to joining The Lew Edwards Group, Salgado served as senior staff for California legislative offices, worked as a successful campaign professional for state legislative and local candidates, and was a strategist on projects involving sensitive land use and other political issues. Salgado brings expertise in strong community engagement, effective communications with diverse constituencies and savvy strategy on behalf of clients, elected officials, candidates, and constituencies.
A Bay Area native, Salgado resides in San Francisco and enjoys volunteering on various boards that support women, candidates, and ground-breaking issues.
