Jay (j!) Leonhardy has over three decades of experience as a community organizer, campaign consultant, and program manager in the non-profit and government sectors.
Leonhardy has worked on hundreds of political campaigns and community action projects in twenty-six states; previously served as the Chief of Staff for three local government officials in Oakland and Richmond; and initiated, developed and led numerous youth-serving projects in the Bay Area for organizations such as Oakland’s Native American Health Center’s Clinic and YouthWORKS in Richmond.
As Special Projects Director for LEG, Leonhardy focuses on high-level community engagement projects and political organizing for clients who have included the Los Medanos Community Healthcare District; political campaigns for IAFF Local 689, Vallejo City Councilmember Hakeem Brown, and Oakland School Board Director Dr. Gary Yee; and campaigns to improve quality education such as Yes on X for San Jose – Evergreen Community College District, a $748,000,000 Education Bond.
Besides directing projects for LEG, Mr. Leonhardy has a variety of interests including travel and gem-hunting.
